PAIR Annual Report, 2005 – 2006

 Highlights:

 Board Development/Changes

·         Accepted, with regret, the resignations of President Mark Dittman and Past-President Sharon Niesley as we wish them well in their new endeavors.

 AIRS/PAIR Membership:

                     ·        Entered into a membership and dues sharing arrangement with AIRS.

 

·         PAIR is 49 members strong and we are the 7th largest affiliate.

 

·         Represented PAIR members on the AIRS Affiliate Council

·         Continued to work with United Way of Pennsylvania to bring 211 to Pennsylvania residents.

 

·         Represented the PAIR membership at a United Way of PA 211 discussion meeting in Harrisburg in April

 

·         Wrote a letter  to United Way of PA endorsing our support of their seeking the 211 number

 

·         Testified at the House Democratic Policy Committee public hearing on the 2-1-1 dialing code. State Rep. Joseph Preston, D-Allegheny, who requested the hearing to study bringing 2-1-1 to Pennsylvania, served as hearing host. These hearings were held in April.

 

Board Planning

 

·         Held a one-day planning retreat to set goals for the year; this work is continuing

 

Developed Quality within the Membership

·         Held two AIRS certification exams

 

Communication to Members

 

·         Communicated with members via e-mail (conference announcements)

·         Updated the PAIR web site: www.pairinfo.org

 

Collaboration with Other Groups

·         Assigned a PAIR member to attend the PEMA (Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency) meetings on behalf of PAIR

 

·         Worked with Pennsylvania Community Action to cross-market conferences.
